When an executor needs to liquidate a collection before probate closes, when a client requires bridge capital without a credit inquiry, when closing costs arrive before the wire — Pledge has been the quiet answer since Ronald Reagan’s first term.
Heirlooms cross our counter and walk back home again. Watches, rings, instruments, tools — each one appraised under a jeweler’s loupe by hand, valued fairly, and returned when life steadies out. We are not a last resort. We are a professional instrument.
In thirty-one years of estate work, I have referred executors to Pledge more times than I can count. When a collection must be liquidated before probate closes and the heirs need interim capital, there is no faster, more transparent instrument available. Pledge appraises accurately, documents meticulously, and treats every item as if it were their own.

You bring an item of value. We appraise it by hand under a jeweler's loupe or with certified instruments. We offer a loan amount — typically 40 to 60 percent of resale value, enough to be meaningful without overextending. You take the cash. Your item is stored in climate-controlled, fully insured premises. When you're ready — at any point within the agreed term — you pay the principal plus a flat monthly fee and walk out with your property. If circumstances prevent redemption, the item is sold at fair market value; if it sells above the loan balance, the surplus returns to you.
Monthly rates range from 2.5% to 4%, depending on item category and loan duration. No prepayment penalty. No rollover coercion.
My clients come to me because they need capital without a credit inquiry on record. Pledge fills a gap that no bank product can. The appraisal is conservative but fair, the terms are transparent, and in eleven years of sending clients their way, I have never had a complaint. That is a remarkable record for any financial services provider.

I send jewelry to Pledge for independent appraisal when my own valuation needs a second opinion for insurance purposes. Their gemologist has forty years on the bench. I have never seen an estate piece mis-graded. For a jeweler, that kind of accuracy from a competitor is rare enough to deserve acknowledgment.

Your clients have already heard from three colleagues.
The question is whether you’d like to be the fourth.
If it holds value and can be stored, we can appraise it. Our bench gemologist holds a GIA Graduate Gemologist credential. Our horologist is certified by the American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute. We do not appraise vehicles, real property, or livestock. We do not accept items without clear provenance documentation. Every appraisal is written, signed, and provided to the client at no charge regardless of whether a loan is made.
Common categories: Swiss and Japanese mechanical watches · Diamond and colored stone jewelry · Vintage and professional cameras · Acoustic and electric instruments · Antique silver · Signed fine art prints
Closing costs have a way of materializing at the worst possible moment. When a client's sale is contingent and the funds are tied up in escrow, Pledge has bridged the gap more than once. The loan closes in a day. The guitar or the watch goes back to its owner at closing. Clean, documented, professional.
